Third Week in Beautiful Aruba!

We are in our third week in lovely Aruba – One Happy Island! The first week I mentioned we were on the 8th floor, second week on the 9th floor and the third and final week (sighs) on the 14th floor (top – Penthouse). The room gives a view of both the sunset side and the other side of the island. I will try to get more shots to share during the week.

Here are some views of the sunset as we traveled by taxi to dinner at Madame Janette’s.

Above is a Divi Divi tree which grows in the direction of the wind.

These are some of the houses above on the island we passed that I thought you would like to see. They were quite nice.

This is one of the trees that grows roots above ground and plants itself as the roots reach in all directions. There are Divi Divi trees that grow in the direction of the wind (mentioned above) and all kinds of Cacti which are indigenous to the island. The palm trees are not indigenous but flown in from other islands. Aruba is not a tropical island but a desert.

Some cacti below

Here are some photos of Madame Janette’s lovely restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service.

Red Snapper a la menieure (my dinner – excellent)

John’s dinner – coconut shrimp (best he ever tasted).

We also had crab cakes but we ate them before I could take a picture. They were that good!

I brought most of the fish back for tomorrow’s lunch.

Now that we have begun our third week here it will fly by, but we will enjoy every minute of it until next year. Then we may only go two weeks. Once you come to this island you can’t stay just a week. You need at least two weeks or more. It is habit forming!

I hope you enjoyed my photos and post about my favorite place on Earth!
