I love these little guys! Every day I spend time observing them. They are sweet but quite feisty when other humming birds try to drink from their feeders. They will fight for their place. They are fascinating and entertaining and provide a lift to my spirits each time they visit. I’ll going to miss them when they leave.
I am in awe when I see humming birds. They are minuscule in size and move so swiftly that they can actually fly in place, pivot and fly backwards. We have three feeders for them and fourteen rose of Sharon bushes around our yard which they love to feed from. Their time here is coming to an end. They must tank up to gain strength to endure their grueling trip to Central America near the equator.

Seeing these little creatures and how resilient they are makes me believe that anything is possible no matter what your size.
Believe in yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t let your fears take over. Be like a humming bird fearless and resilient. I feel more confident that I can do more if these miniature birds can fly extraordinary distances and then return again next year. They are truly remarkable.
Here is a poem I wrote several years ago.
(compliments of Wikipedia)
A HUMMING BIRD
It is delicate as a butterfly
And graceful as a lark.
Wings beating in a symphonic rhythm
As it maneuvers around each flower,
And dips its beak to draw out the nectar so sweet.
I watch it as it moves so effortlessly.
Its wings beat so quickly it almost seems to stand still.
Its feathers glisten with color and reflect the sun’s rays.
Seeing this bird in its element is to experience pure wonder and joy.
One knows that there is something greater out there
That made the glorious humming bird.
My goal this year is easy compared to these birds. I hoped to publish five books. So far l have published two and two more on the way. I will keep plugging along and will not give up. I love what I do and hope you readers out there love reading my books.
Feel free to drop me a line to share your thoughts and reviews of my books.
Thank you for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed my birds and that you get to see some too to brighten your day.
Blessings & hugs!
