A warm welcome to talented author, Dr. Eric Williams, to my Guest Blog Segment. It is a pleasure to have you here, Eric. I will let Eric tell us all about his wonderful book, Edric, The Hatchling Gryphon.
I am Dr. Eric Williams a Minister, College Professor, and Daddy to eight wonderful children. I live with my wife, Dr. Carol Williams in a small town in Southern Illinois. I earned my Doctorate of Ministry through Andersonville Theological Seminary. I currently teach Ethics, Philosophy, and Religion at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois.
The story of Edric is inspired by the antics of my children and other relationships within my own immediate family. You will find my siblings, my four younger brothers, represented in the characters that accompany my heroes, and my children reflected in the spontaneous antics of the Hero Edric. My brothers and I all served in the military at some point. Four of us all at the same time and we represented all four major services.
I wrote this book for all children in the world, but especially my eight kids. It’s a legacy that I hope will help shape them into courteous, successful and ultimately happy people. The narrative embodies the traits of my siblings while positively portraying the character attributes I wish to instill in my own children. Their personalities shine through Edric and I hope others can use the story to their own benefit.
The series will have at least three volumes, and the next will focus on each person’s individual character traits and development. In my opinion, there should be a copy of this book in every home and school; it offers so much more than just a story.
Early reviews have been extremely positive. For example, Dr. Shirley Crenshaw comments, “Having read Edric the Hatching Gryphon, I find it to be a delightful tale full of adventure with fascinating characters and an engrossing plot that highlights caring relationships, loyal camaraderie, and courageous actions to overcome threatening challenges. Although it is designed for young readers, I think it is it is appropriate for readers of all ages. I believe that they will look forward to the continuing story in future sequels.”
You can find Edric the Hatchling Gryphon at all major online outlets in every form; hardback, Paperback and eBook.

Thank you, Eric, for sharing your fascinating story with my readers and me. I wish you much success with your books.
I recently read and reviewed Eric’s delightful book. Here is my review on Amazon.
A beautiful blue Agate stone is found in the woods by Aerek, a former soldier and now a woodsman. The beautiful blue of the stone so captured his attention that he picked it up to bring to his friend Beecie, who knows a lot about the woods and all its flora and fauna. They puzzle over the warm stone and decide to build a nest just in case it is a Gryphon. When it hatches Aerek and Beecie become caretakers of this captivating creature. They name the Gryphon, Edric.
This is a creative and imaginative adventure about a Gryphon, a strange creature that is half bird on the upper body and lion on the lower body. Gryphons love gold and will fight to protect their stash. All ages will enjoy this tale with trolls and Arimaspi, one-eyed giants. Edric shows his courage and strength and just how powerful he can be.
There will be more exciting adventures to come that will delight and engage children.
